A three-story, 54,000 square foot addition where we consulted with the owner for commissioning activities. TESTCOMM provided testing and commissioning of all temperature controls, heating water, chilled water, HVAC, plumbing, medical air, building envelope, life safety, and emergency systems. Project included pressure sensitive surgical environments. We wrote and executed equipment start-up and functional performance test procedures; verified proper system installation and operation; verified correction of deficiencies found during testing; provided training; oversaw testing and balancing operations; tested all energy management system points. A case study done on this project showed a simple payback of the commissioning costs in 2.1 years by avoided energy costs, and less than one year if non-energy items are included. The project commenced in October 1998 and completed in March 2000.
